First of all, kudos to wingedsephdx and jerzi for the Berserk reference. Excellent choice as it is one of my personal favorites...However...I must say My #1 is Sasuke Uchiha. You will find few ppl with a more interesting back story and personality...

Erasing a memory of someone I used to know............
For those who follow the Bleach manga, they not-so recently introduced a few Arrancars who were more comedy relief than enemies. Out of those that were shown, Nell has become my favorite.
The reason why I like Nell's attitude so much is because of how she gets attached to Ichigo. Despite being an Arrancar, she actually believes that the shinigami are evil but quickly develops an attachment to Ichigo because she mistakingly believes he cares. Well, he does seem to later on.
She's unbelievably cute with her lisp and uhh... well, let's just say that she knows things that no child her age should know.That's why I like her so much.
Akimichi Chōji from Naruto!! ^_^ He's soo nice, despite the fact that some people treat him badly 'cause he's. . . "pleasantly plump". XD And when he (spoiler alert >_>) fought Jiroubu all by himself so that Kiba, Naruto, Neji and Shikamaru could keep looking for Sasuke, then almost died. . , (I was SO sad 'cause I thought he did die. ._. It made me cry!) that really raised my respect for him. I always thought he was funny and nice, but after that, I was converted to a fangirl. He was amazing. :D
Oh, and those episodes made me like Shikamaru even more, too! ^_^ He's such a good friend. <3

Even though it's not what he enjoys doing, he believes so strongly in the cause that he does what he must to bring about the new era. After a particular event, he realizes it is time to walk a different path and begins his quest for atonement. Now that takes some serious conviction.
When I found my conviction again, I did not recognize it for my own.
Heero. He has this mysterious side to him that I find awfully sexy and attractive. And from Pilot Candidate, Hiead, because he also has this mature personality. I've never seen either of them laugh. Ever. Actually, Heero once, when he went berserk after he attempted self-destruction with his Gundam. Zero Enna, Shuichi (Gravitation) and Duo, because they're so fun-loving and silly and they make my day when I watch them.

I would say Mugen from Samurai Champloo strikes me as my favourite. His careless and loose attitude towards life in general added a lot of colour into the series overall.

I have to say kyo sohma because it's so easy for yuki to get him mad (he's all talk) but when torhu is the only one there he realaxes. He's funny, too.

Mines probably Goku, he doesn't care about alot, but takes action if anything he loves is threatened.
I also like Trunks alot too, he's kinda got some Vegeta in him(duh) but isn't too arrogant to take action against things like Goku.
